Learn Gymnastics offer a development program for girls beginning at 18 months and for boys ages 18 months to 5 years. Masters Swimming Program - Masters Swimming is a year-round program consisting of adults, 18 and over, who strive to maintain fitness, train for competitions or wish to meet and compete with other swimmers. Durango is a fast growing team in this part of the country and is beginning to be noticed at large regional and national meets. Swimmers consistently compete in the Colorado State Championships, Silver State, and Western Slope Championships. The Durango Swim Club is focused on the betterment of USA-S competitive stroke technique and training. The club has called the Recreation Center home since February 2002 and has enjoyed the state-of-the-art 11-lane training facility. DGO practices at the Durango Community Recreation Center. Employment opportunities are available for qualified applicants.ĭurango Swim Club - The Durango Swim Club (DGO) is a United States of America Swimming (USA-S) affiliated club team. Students who successfully complete the course are certified in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid. Students are required to pass a swimming test on the first day of class and must be 15 years old by the completion of the class. Lifeguard Training Class - The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Class prepares students for work as professional lifeguards. Seniors and adults are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants can join the Community Recreation Center instructor team. This American Red Cross class provides a nationally recognized swim instructor certification. Water Safety Instructor Class - Learn to teach swim lessons. A maximum of 23 guests are allowed in the hot tub at any one time.Users 6 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.Prolonged use may result in fainting or dizziness. Recommended length of stay in the hot tub is a maximum of 10 minutes.Young children, pregnant women, elderly and those with heart problems should consult a physician before entering the spa.Diving area must be clear before leaving the board.Dive or jump straight off the board and clear diving area immediately.Only one person on the board at a time.Adults may accompany small children at the lifeguard's discretion.Children may not be caught by anyone in the splashdown area.Remove all sharp metal objects and locker keys before using slide.Only one person on the slide at a time.No climbing over pool walls for any reason.One person at a time on the inner tubes.Play features are for small children only.
